Alison Preiss Quoted in The Deal on Impact of Semiannual Reporting on Activism

04.01.26

Partner Alison Preiss was quoted in an article titled, “Semiannual Reporting to Redefine Activism,” which was published by The Deal. The article discussed how the SEC appears set to let corporations report financials biannually, which could impact interactions between executives and insurgent managers. Alison noted, “Activists that can get access to information through multiple channels will do better than smaller activists that don’t have access to as much information.” She further explained that semiannual reporting “could become an option on the broader menu of governance protections for newly public companies.” She added that “Unless there is a structural long-term problem, such as the business should be sold or broken up, activists, particularly less established activists, may decide not to pick a company that reports semiannually if they want to have an impactful campaign.”
