Todd Crider Contributes Prologue to Book and Speaks at 25th Anniversary of the Pro Bono Commission of the Buenos Aires City Bar Association

04.29.26

Partner and Co-Head of Firm’s Latin America Practice, Todd Crider was invited to deliver opening remarks at the 25th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Comisión Pro Bono in Argentina by the Bar Association at Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Bar Association). In his remarks, Todd celebrated the achievement of individuals who created, sustained, and grew the Comision Pro Bono into the center of a public interest ecosystem in Argentina. He also addressed the critical need for legal services to assure effective access to justice. In increasingly stratified societies with large segments of the population in vulnerable economic conditions effective justice is a critical component of a functioning democracy.

In honor of the anniversary, the Association released the book 25 Years Transforming Lives Through Law, to which Todd contributed the Prologue in which he addressed the foundations of justice and of pro bono as a response from the private bar, the creation and functioning of a dynamic and transformative pro bono ecosystem, pro bono as a civic engagement that is essential to democracy, and a celebration of the achievements of the Comision Pro Bono in Argentina and of the individuals who sustain it.
