Matt Feehily Quoted in FT Ignites on SFDR Reporting Requirements

10.02.26

Sustainability and ESG Partner Matt Feehily was quoted in an FT Ignites article titled “Private market managers to continue SFDR reporting despite rule changes”, which discussed why private markets managers are expected to continue facing demands to provide ESG-related data to institutional investors, despite reforms which are expected to scale back aspects of SFDR regime, including indicators for so-called “principal adverse impacts” (PAIs). Matt noted that “it continues to be common for institutional LPs to request a significant amount of ESG-related data from the GPs they invest with, including the SFDR PAIs ". He went on to highlight that "where PAI reporting is baked into the products offered by institutional LPs to their own investors there is still likely to be a demand for the data". He continues "for any GPs that have already agreed contractually to provide such data for their existing funds, they will have to continue reporting in any case, so it seems unlikely that PAIs will fully go away, regardless of the outcome under a future SFDR 2.0.
