Grenfel Calheiros and Juan Francisco Méndez Quoted in LatinFinance on the LatAm Loans and Bonds Market
Co-Heads of Simpson Thacher’s Latin America Practice Grenfel Calheiros and Juan Francisco Méndez were quoted in two articles in LatinFinance’s 2026 Q4 magazine issue about the outlook for Latin American loan activity and bond activity looking ahead to Q4 2026 and beyond. In “Market Talks: Loans,” Grenfel noted that “A lot of corporates that need to do some sort of liability management are seeking more creative transactions and looking for loans that sometimes are a bridge for future bonds.” Juan Francisco explained that deal closings are dependent on issues that are unique to each country. In “Market Talks: Bonds,” Juan Francisco described how “If the expectation is for interest rates to continue going up, people are going to hit the market now.”
