Litigation Partner Buzz Frahn and Litigation Associates Michael Morey and Katerina Siefkas co-wrote an article published on the California Lawyers Association’s website. The article, titled “The Results Are In: Individual State Bar Applicant Data is Outside the Scope of the CPRA . . . For Now,” discusses the California Court of Appeal’s affirmance of the Superior Court of San Francisco City and County’s holding that the California State Bar was not required to disclose applicant data in response to several California Public Records Act (“CPRA”) requests seeking such data. The decision may have a significant impact on future CPRA requests submitted to the State Bar and the continued debate between the public’s interest in applicant data and the privacy interests of applicants.
