Jihyun Chung

Jihyun Chung is a Partner in the Firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice. She represents sophisticated private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, as well as strategic clients, on a broad range of complex corporate transactions that are often cross border. Jihyun has extensive experience in advising clients on highly complex mergers, acquisitions, buyouts, joint ventures, minority investments and dispositions. Her work extends across a wide array of industries, including consumer products, financial services, healthcare, industrials and manufacturing and technology.

Select deals Jihyun has advised on include representing:

• Cerberus Capital Management in connection with its acquisitions of Brooklyn Bedding and Helix Sleep
• Ingersoll Rand in its acquisition of Seepex in an all-cash transaction valued at €431.5 million
• Melrose Industries in the sale of its Nortek Air Management business to Madison Industries for an all-cash purchase price of approximately £2.62 billion ($3.625 billion) and its previous $2.8 billion acquisition of Nortek through a public tender offer
• KKR in its $4.4 billion acquisition of Global Atlantic, as well as the sponsor’s acquisitions of Heartland Dental, PetVet Care Centers, RBmedia and Avoca Capital
• Consortium of investors in its investment in select gas pipeline assets of The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company valued at $20.7 billion
• Acelity and consortium of funds advised by Apax Partners together with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Public Sector Pension Investment Board in the $6.275 billion sale of Acelity and its subsidiaries 
• Advisor Group and consortium of affiliated funds of Lightyear Capital together with Public Sector Pension Plan Board in the sale of Advisor Group to Reverence Capital 
• Kelsey-Seybold in its strategic partnership with TPG

In 2013, Jihyun received a “Pro Bono Publico Award” for providing outstanding pro bono services to The Legal Aid Society and its clients.

Jihyun graduated from Yonsei University in 2004. She received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 2012 and her M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management in 2012. Jihyun is admitted to practice in New York.
