Nikita Kumar

Nikita Kumar is Counsel in the Firm’s Restructuring Practice. Based in the London office, Nikita's practice focuses on advising domestic and cross-border stressed and distressed situations including debt restructurings and liability management exercises. She represents a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including creditors, debtors, sponsors and insolvency practitioners on a variety of restructuring matters.

Nikita's recent public experience includes advising clients in relation to the Accell, Pizza Express and Praesidiad restructurings.

Nikita’s representative experience includes:

• The ad hoc group of bondholders to Pizza Express on its debt restructuring

• Funds managed by KKR as sponsor and secured creditors in relation to all aspects of their investment in Accell Group, including its comprehensive recapitalisation, implemented through a U.K. scheme of arrangement

• Certain funds advised by KKR Credit as second lien lenders to the Wittur group in relation to its financial restructuring, involving €1bn of debt

• Funds managed by Pemberton Capital Advisers in relation to its private credit investment including its comprehensive financial restructuring and debt-for-equity swap
• Funds managed by Barings in relation to its private credit investment including its comprehensive financial restructuring
• TDR Capital and Hurtigruten Group in connection with its financial restructuring
• The ad hoc group of lenders to the Praesidiad group in relation to its financial restructuring

Nikita received her LPC, with Distinction, from BPP University Law School in 2016. She received her B.A. (Hons) from St. Hilda’s College, University of Oxford, in 2015. She is admitted in England and Wales.
