Bryce Kaufman is a Partner in the Firm’s Banking and Credit Practice in Houston. He advises financial institutions, direct lenders and borrowers in complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions across a range of industries, including energy, infrastructure, power, data centers, transportation and retail.
Bryce regularly represents clients in acquisition financings, bridge financings, leveraged finance transactions, back leverage financings, liability management transactions, reserve-based and asset-based lending transactions, and strategic workout and restructuring matters. His practice includes advising on large-cap and middle-market transactions involving complex capital structures and bespoke financing solutions.
He is ranked as “Up and Coming” for Banking & Finance by Chambers USA, where clients note that he is “knowledgeable, available and provides sound advice.”
His work includes representing:
- A sponsor in multiple back leverage financings with respect to its interests in infrastructure join ventures
- JPMorgan, as administrative agent and lead arranger, in MN8 Energy's $650 million senior secured revolving credit facility
- Lead arranger and administrative agent in National Fuel Gas Company’s $1.3 billion revolving credit facility
- JPMorgan, as administrative agent and lender under a pre-petition ABL facility in connection with the bankruptcy cases of Claire’s Holdings LLC and its affiliated debtors
- The lead arrangers in (i) NGL Energy Partners LP’s (“NGL”) $950 million senior secured term loan facility and (ii) the amendment of NGL’s $425 million asset-based revolving credit facility
- Wells Fargo, as administrative agent and lead arranger in the inaugural $1 billion senior secured revolving credit facility for Peoria Resources LLC, in connection with its $1.3 billion acquisition of Verdad Resources Intermediate Holdings LLC
- Wells Fargo, as administrative agent and lead arranger, in Texas Pacific Land Corporation’s inaugural credit agreement, which establishes a revolving credit facility with initial aggregate commitments of $500 million and an incremental capacity for additional commitments of $250 million
In addition to his client work, Bryce also maintains an active pro bono practice, including helping clients seal juvenile records and assisting with trusts and wills. He is on the Board of Directors for Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston.
Bryce received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2011, where he was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the
Stanford Journal of International Law, followed by a clerkship with the Honorable Lynn N. Hughes of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas from 2011 to 2013. He received his B.A.,
summa cum laude, from Yale University in 2007 and was awarded Yale’s Fox Fellowship for a post-graduate independent research project at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. Bryce is admitted to practice in Texas, New York and California.
