Jason Herman is a Corporate Partner focusing on the organization, structuring and operation of a wide range of private credit funds as well as advising sponsors across a range of strategies on other aspects of asset management. Jason’s fund formation experience includes, credit funds (including direct lending, distressed, mezzanine, asset based finance, structured credit and other credit opportunity funds); investment vehicles and accounts tailored for insurance solutions strategies; real estate funds (including opportunistic and core+ funds); infrastructure and climate solutions funds; and buyout funds. In addition to traditional private equity fundraising initiatives, Jason regularly advises sponsors with respect to customized fund arrangements, co-investment vehicles, and carry plans and other internal arrangements. He routinely represents leading domestic and international sponsors in diverse fund formation matters, including KKR, Blackstone, Morgan Stanley, BGO, J.P. Morgan, CBRE, Affinius Capital, a16z, ACORE Capital, Jefferies Credit Partners, Hercules Capital, Lord Abbett and Sagard. Chambers has cited him as “an incredibly strong service provider,” with a gift for approaching issues “with a great sense of practicality.”

Jason received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2001. He received his B.A., with highest distinction, from the University of Michigan in 1997, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
