Simpson Thacher is advising a consortium of investment funds advised or managed by Apax Partners Worldwide LLP, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P., The Blackstone Group International Limited, Permira Advisers KB and Providence Equity Partners Limited in the announced acquisition of TDC A/S, Denmark's largest telecom company, by Nordic Telephone Company ApS, a company indirectly owned by them. The deal, valued at 76 billion Danish krone ($12 billion), would be the largest private equity takeover in Europe and the second largest worldwide (behind RJR Nabisco) to date.
The transaction is being conducted principally out of the firm's London office, with valuable assistance from many firm lawyers in New York and others in London.
