Real Estate Partner Greg Ressa was recognized by Law360 as an “MVP” in Real Estate for 2016. Greg was honored for representing Blackstone, along with his fellow Simpson Thacher partners, in various complex billion dollar real estate deals, notably its high-profile $5.3 billion deal to buy the Manhattan Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village residential complex from CWCapital through a joint venture with Ivanhoe Cambridge Inc. Greg has also represented Blackstone in its $6 billion purchase of Strategic Hotels & Resorts Inc., its R$1.07 billion (approximately US$317.7 million) purchase of 10 properties from BR Properties and its purchase of a 49% stake in a Washington, D.C. office property from Columbia Property Trust Inc., which valued the property at $595 million. Greg was also honored for his representation of Northwood Investors LLC in its $805 million sale of the New York Palace hotel to Lotte Hotels & Resorts, a Korean firm.
