Mike Osnato Quoted in The Wall Street Journal on Market Volatility of ETPs
Litigation Partner Mike Osnato was quoted in an article in The Wall Street Journal titled “Market Volatility Strikes Exchange-Traded Products, Alarming Investors and Regulators,” which discusses investor reaction to recent market volatility and the impact of fast-growing passive funds on the markets they are meant to track. According to the article, regulators are questioning whether VIX ETPs exchange-traded products are suitable for retail investors. “You will see more pressure on clearer and cleaner disclosure of complex products, and more scrutiny on firms about how they train their representatives to responsibly sell them,” Mike said.
