Pro Bono Counsel Harlene Katzman participated in a webinar on June 1 titled, “Activating the Private Bar to Protect the Right to Vote Amid the Pandemic.” Hosted by the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the discussion was geared towards the private bar and focused on new challenges presented in the 2020 election cycle amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The panelists outlined the current litigation landscape and reviewed key cases that impact access to the ballot, explored potential reforms that can be enacted to expand access, and discussed the pro bono volunteers’ roles in Election Protection.
