Mergers and Acquisitions Partner David Hernand participated in the Transaction Advisors Institute’s M&A Conference at the University of Chicago on June 26. David moderated a panel focused on “Joint Venture Structuring” that featured internal M&A experts from ADM, Constellation Energy and Tenneco. The panel discussed why companies pursue joint ventures and their different forms, how best to organize, govern and operate them to maximize success, why many joint ventures fail, and how parties to joint ventures exit and resolve disputes. Joint ventures are a popular tool for companies and institutional investors to pursue growth with shared ownership, capital investment and risk.
