Vanessa Burrows and Lindsey Bohl Speak at AHLA’s Fundamentals of Health Law Conference
Healthcare Partner Vanessa Burrows and Antitrust Partner Lindsey Bohl participated in the American Health Law Association’s (AHLA) Fundamentals of Health Law conference on November 2 - 4 in Chicago. Vanessa served on the planning committee for the conference and also spoke on a panel titled, “Telehealth, Digital Health, and AI Fundamentals,” which explored executive orders and new state laws focused on the uses of AI in healthcare, while emphasizing regulatory frameworks and legal risks such as privacy, fraud and FDA guidance and regulations for software as a medical device. Panelists also addressed AI-related legal considerations and trends in enforcement actions, including litigation involving AI algorithms.
Lindsey participated in a panel titled, “Antitrust in Health Care Transactions and Collaborations,” where she discussed antitrust considerations related to healthcare merger review and collaborations. The panel also examined relevant antitrust laws and frameworks, trends in federal and state enforcement, including updated merger guidelines and recent actions and offered practical advice for counseling on healthcare transactions.
