Simpson Thacher has advised Blackstone and its portfolio company Hotel Investment Partners (HIP), a leading owner of resort hotels in Southern Europe, on the acquisition of Olympic Lagoon Resorts Paphos, a five-star resort located in Paphos, Cyprus. The resort is acquired from Kanika and Amathus. Kanika, one of the leading operators in the Cypriot market, will remain as the hotel operator. Olympic Lagoon Resorts Paphos marks HIP’s first acquisition in Cyprus and is situated on the beachfront of one of the island’s most exclusive regions.
