David Blass Quoted in PELR on SEC Proposed Amendments to Small Entity Definitions for Investment Advisers

Partner David Blass was quoted in a Private Equity Law Report article titled, “SEC Proposes Amendments to Small Entity Definitions for Investment Advisers,” which detailed the SEC’s proposed amendments to the definitions of “small business” and “small organization” under the Investment Company Act and the Advisers Act, respectively. David noted that “The Proposal redefines what a small investment adviser is, in terms of the SEC’s internal processes, when it is engaged in rulemaking for advisers.” He added that “It is likely that the Proposal will be adopted in its current form given that it is not terribly controversial.” With reference to how the Proposal may eventually impact how existing rules are applied, David explained that “there will be no immediate operational impact, and nothing that market entities need to do today to prepare for its adoption.”
