Firm and Individual Honors Go Back

03.04.26

Global Co-Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Department Lynn Neuner has been elected as Chair of the Board of Directors of The Legal Aid Society, the nation's oldest and largest public defense and civil legal services provider.

Lynn, one of the nation's leading trial lawyers, has been a steadfast advocate for the organization and for public service throughout her career. “It’s deeply meaningful to serve during this particular year, which commemorates 150 years of Legal Aid’s extraordinary work,” she remarked in a recent article in the New York Law Journal, adding, “My goal is to have a thriving partnership between the law firms and The Legal Aid Society.”

Founded in 1876, The Legal Aid Society provides a full range of civil legal services as well as criminal defense work, and juvenile rights representation in Family Court. Its core service is to provide free legal assistance to New Yorkers who live at or below the poverty level and cannot afford to hire a lawyer when confronted with a legal problem. The Legal Aid Society is celebrating its 150th year of service to the people of New York.
