Simpson Thacher represented Grant Thornton Advisors LLC (“Grant Thornton Advisors”) and funds managed by New Mountain Capital LLC (“New Mountain”) in connection with the further expansion of Grant Thornton’s multinational platform through the acquisition of Grant Thornton Denmark — a move that deepens the platform’s footprint in Europe and signals its continued investment in cross-border professional services.
The transaction brings Grant Thornton Denmark’s more than 650 professionals and EUR 85 million in annual revenue into a platform of 18 firms worldwide, ten of which are based in Europe — namely, Grant Thornton firms in Ireland, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Channel Islands, Switzerland/Liechtenstein, and Poland. The expansion in Europe complements the platform’s growing presence in the Americas, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, where recent transactions include firms in the Cayman Islands, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, and New Zealand. Simpson Thacher has represented Grant Thornton Advisors and New Mountain in connection with each of these transactions.
