Berkshire Hathaway Completes ¥272.3 Billion Yen-Denominated Bond Offering

Simpson Thacher represented Mizuho and BofA Securities, in the registered public offering of ¥272.3 billion aggregate principal amount of debt securities by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (“Berkshire”), consisting of ¥128.9 billion of 2.077% Senior Notes due 2029, ¥86.8 billion of 2.465% Senior Notes due 2031, ¥22.3 billion of 2.739% Senior Notes due 2033, ¥27.3 billion of 3.084% Senior Notes due 2036, ¥2.0 billion of 3.452% Senior Notes due 2041 and ¥5.0 billion of 4.037% Senior Notes due 2056. The offering closed on April 16, 2026.

Berkshire and its subsidiaries engage in diverse business activities including insurance and reinsurance, freight rail transportation, utilities and energy, finance, manufacturing, services and retailing. Berkshire’s common stock is listed on the NYSE under trading symbols BRK.A and BRK.B.
