Sam Sergent Honored with Klepper Prize for Volunteer Excellence by Legal Aid DC
Associate Sam Sergent was honored with the 2026 Klepper Prize for Volunteer Excellence at Legal Aid DC’s Servant of Justice Awards Dinner, held April 28 in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes Sam’s exceptional pro bono service to Legal Aid DC clients, including her instrumental role in building the pro bono component of Legal Aid’s Reentry Justice Project, which helps individuals overcome barriers stemming from a criminal record. Over the past five years, Sam has handled 12 criminal record sealing matters on behalf of Legal Aid DC clients: nine motions have been granted, and three remain pending. She has also mentored colleagues participating in the program.
