Simpson Thacher Named Among Private Equity International’s 2025 Top Fund Formation Advisors
Simpson Thacher was highlighted among the top two legal advisors in Private Equity International’s (PEI) Fund Formation League Table rankings by total value, advising on funds that raised more than $97.8 billion. The Firm was recognized for its role advising on Blackstone Capital Partners IX, which closed at $21.7 billion, and Coller International Partners IX, $12.5 billion, with PEI noting that this showcases how “capital continues to flow to managers with scale, strong track records and clear competitive advantages.” The rankings cover blind pool private equity funds and continuation funds that had a final close date in 2025.
Michael Wolitzer, Chair of Funds and Funds Adjacencies at the Firm, was also quoted in the article, noting, “We continue to see a flight to quality, with LPs gravitating towards managers with proven value creation capabilities and consistent track records, as well as those select emerging managers with truly differentiated strategies.”
