Zachary Hafer Quoted in Law360 on Increased Criminal Scrutiny of Researchers Crossing Borders
Government and Internal Investigations Partner Zachary Hafer was quoted in a Law360 article titled, “Research Or Crime? Feds Eye Scientists Crossing Borders,” on the increased criminal scrutiny of scientists transporting research materials across borders. He said universities receiving federal funds face potential False Claims Act exposure. "This is something universities need to be extraordinarily mindful of,” Hafer said. They should "be proactive about making sure all of their policies, procedures, and protocols will stand up if the government comes knocking."
