Evan advised on several noteworthy matters during the past year, including Western Digital's spinoff of SanDisk, with Western Digital exchanging $4 billion worth of shares of SanDisk common stock for Western Digital debt.
Evan, who represents investment banks across Wall Street, said the Firm has created something of a specialty in debt‐for‐equity and debt‐for‐debt exchanges, noting that the numerous moving pieces are what make such deals so difficult.
Evan told Law360 that the reason he became interested in capital markets law is because it sits at the intersection of business, law and current events, and he likes being a part of that intersection through his work. "What's happening in the world is impacting my job, and often my job is impacting what's happening in the world," he said. "I think that's really, really fortunate."
