08.26.26
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP today announced that Murray Cox will join the Firm’s London office as a Partner in the Energy and Infrastructure Practice.

“Infrastructure as an asset class continues to show strong momentum, with capital concentrating on the largest platforms and digital infrastructure and energy-related investment dominating activity, which plays to the strength of our practice,” said Amy Mahon, Co-Head of Simpson Thacher’s Energy and Infrastructure Practice. “Murray’s impressive M&A practice, which incorporates complex transactions across a range of infrastructure sectors, will further strengthen our ability to support clients on their most complex and significant mandates.”

Murray advises financial sponsors, listed companies and other institutional investors on cross-border M&A, U.K. and European take-privates, infrastructure investments, corporate governance, ESG and corporate finance matters. He joins from Weil Gotshal.

“Murray brings a distinctive cross-border M&A practice backed up by deep sector knowledge and experience that aligns closely with the opportunities we see in Europe’s rapidly evolving energy and infrastructure landscape,” said European Managing Partner Wheatly MacNamara. “He will strengthen our capabilities for clients pursuing transformative transactions across the region. We welcome Murray to the Firm.”

His arrival follows the hire of energy transition Partner Eleanor Milne, who joined the Firm’s London office in 2025, and Energy and Infrastructure Partner David McKendrick, who joined earlier this year.

Simpson Thacher’s Energy and Infrastructure Practice advises a broad range of clients, including funds and corporates, through all stages of the investment cycle within the energy and infrastructure sector.
