Simpson Thacher Partners to Speak at PLI’s Hot Topics in Mergers & Acquisitions 2026
Gillian Emmett Moldowan, a Partner in the Firm’s Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Practice, and Mark Viera, a Partner in the Firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, will be featured panelists at the Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) Hot Topics in Mergers & Acquisitions 2026 program on September 22.
Gillian will participate in a panel titled, “Employment & Executive Compensation Issues in M&A,” and will discuss strategic approaches to retention and severance arrangements, compliance with disclosure obligations, managing 280G impacts and best practices for handling equity awards in transactions, including AI-related considerations.
Mark will speak on a panel titled, “AI in the Deal Room: What M&A Lawyers Need to Know.” The panel will discuss how AI tools are reshaping workflows for transactional lawyers, key issues in acquisitions of AI-driven targets and emerging deal terms and representations addressing AI use, governance, and regulatory exposure.
