Benjamin Moh

Benjamin Moh is Counsel in the Firm’s Real Estate Practice based in Asia. He advises on corporate M&A with a particular focus on real estate, and has advised various private equity sponsors on their Asia-based acquisitions (including take-privates), disposals, joint ventures and management arrangements. His recent practice includes advising private equity clients on PE-to-PE acquisitions and disposals, carve-out acquisitions, structured investments and instruments (including loan instruments backed by real estate), structuring of and transaction documentation for real estate investment platforms (with a focus on data center platforms), secondaries and management incentive and promote arrangements. His recent sub-sector focus includes extensive work in the data center space, having advised various private equity sponsors on a number of data center transactions, including on issues arising at an asset-operator level and fund portfolio-level.

Benjamin is triple-qualified in Singapore, England and Wales as well as Hong Kong. Prior to joining Simpson Thacher in 2019, he worked at leading international law firms in Singapore, London, Bangkok and Beijing. He graduated from the National University of Singapore, where he received his LL.B. in 2012. Benjamin is from Singapore and speaks English and Mandarin.

• Blackstone in its A$24 billion acquisition of AirTrunk, Blackstone’s largest ever investment in the Asia Pacific region and the largest transaction in Australia in 2024
• PAG in the formation of its first Renewable Energy-Focused Fund REN I at $550 million
• Blackstone Real Estate Partners and Blackstone Tactical Opportunities in the formation of Lumina CloudInfra’s data center investment platform
• PAG in the formation of FLOW Digital Infrastructure’s data center investment platform
• Portfolio companies of EQT Infrastructure in certain of their data center investments
• Blackstone Capital Partners in its $2.3 billion acquisition of Takeda Consumer Healthcare Company Limited
• KSL Capital Partners in its investment in the resort chain Soneva
• Blackstone in numerous real estate transactions throughout Asia, including its $480 million acquisition of 50% stake in Taubman’s retail investments in Asia, its $1.25 billion acquisition of VivoCity Mall in Shanghai from Mapletree and its privatization of Croesus Retail Trust
