Faris Elrabie is Counsel in the Firm’s Fund Transactions Practice. He leverages legal and commercial experience to advise alternative asset managers on complex secondary market and strategic sponsor-level transactions. He also advises private fund sponsors on all aspects of their business, including ordinary and extraordinary firmwide and fund-specific capital formation, economic, governance, transactional and operational matters.
Prior to joining Simpson Thacher, Faris held leadership roles at leading investment banks, where he originated and advised on sponsor-led and sponsor-level transactions. Earlier in his career, Faris was the Chief Legal Officer of a top-decile private equity firm investing in services and software businesses. He also spent several years as an investment funds attorney in the New York and Los Angeles offices of a leading global law firm, where he was a founding member of the Los Angeles investment funds practice.

Faris received his J.D., cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, where he was Business Editor for the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal. He received his M.B.A. from Fordham University Gabelli School of Business and his B.A. from Ramapo College of New Jersey. He is admitted to practice in New York.
