Faris Elrabie advises alternative asset managers on complex secondary and liquidity solution transactions. He also has experience advising sponsors on ordinary and extraordinary firmwide and fund-specific capital formation, transactional, internal economic, governance and operational matters across the private equity lifecycle.

Prior to joining Simpson Thacher, Faris held leadership roles in private capital advisory at leading investment banks, where he originated and executed GP-led secondary and sponsor-level transactions. Earlier in his career, Faris was the Chief Legal Officer of Alpine Investors, a leading private equity firm investing in services and software businesses. He also spent several years as an investment funds attorney in the New York and Los Angeles offices of a leading global law firm, where he was a founding member of its Los Angeles investment funds practice.

Faris Elrabie is Counsel in the Firm’s Fund Transactions Practice. He leverages legal and commercial experience to advise alternative asset managers on complex secondary market and strategic sponsor-level transactions. He also advises sponsors across the entire private equity lifecycle, including on ordinary and extraordinary firmwide and fund-specific capital formation, economic, governance, transactional and operational matters.

Prior to joining Simpson Thacher, Faris held leadership roles at leading investment banks, where he originated and executed sponsor-led and sponsor-level transactions. Earlier in his career, Faris was the Chief Legal Officer of a top-decile private equity firm investing in services and software businesses. He also spent several years as an investment funds attorney in the New York and Los Angeles offices of a leading global law firm, where he was a founding member of the Los Angeles investment funds practice.
