Luiz F. Noronha

Luiz F. Noronha is Counsel based in Simpson Thacher’s São Paulo office and focuses on cross-border transactions, primarily involving Brazil and Latin America. His practice includes advising clients in M&A, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital investments, as well as equity and debt capital markets offerings. Luiz regularly represents leading public and private companies, private equity sponsors, venture capital firms and investment banks in transactions across a range of industries, including technology, banking, financial services, healthcare and infrastructure.

Luiz’s clients on numerous M&A transactions across Latin America have included leading private equity sponsors and fund managers such as The Blackstone Group, Advent International, H.I.G. Capital, Softbank, Pátria Investimentos and Riverwood, as well as leading companies such as Braskem, BTG Pactual, The Boeing Company, Grant Thornton Advisors and Vinci Partners. In capital markets, Luiz represents both issuers and investment banks in public and private offerings of equity and debt securities across sectors and industries. Luiz has significant experience advising on IPOs and follow-on offerings involving Brazilian issuers. Luiz graduated from the University of São Paulo and as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar from Columbia Law School. He joined Simpson Thacher in 2017. Luiz is admitted to practice law in New York and authorized as a foreign legal consultant by the São Paulo Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil – São Paulo). He is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
