  • American Securities in its pending acquisition of Hexion Holdings, a global leader in thermoset resins
  • Prince International Corporation in its pending $2.1 billion acquisition of Ferro Corporation, a leading global supplier of technology-based functional coatings and color solutions
  • The Jordan Company in its $650 million acquisition of Potters Industries, a global manufacturer of engineered glass materials
  • Tenneco Inc. in its $5.4 billion acquisition of Federal-Mogul LLC, a global supplier to original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket, from Icahn Enterprises L.P.
  • The Special Committee of Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. in its agreement to combine Spectrum Brands with HRG Group, Inc. in a transaction valued at $10 billion

Toby Chun is Co-Head of the Firm’s Environmental Practice. His practice focuses on managing the environmental aspects of corporate and real estate practices, with experience across a diverse range of businesses and industries in the United States and around the world.

Toby is recognized by Chambers USA in the Environment: Mainly Transactional category, where he has been praised for “his ability to analyze and frame technical issues so they can be absorbed and acted upon by business principals.” A client reference noted that Toby “gives us comfort that matters will be addressed responsibly, thoroughly, and expeditiously.” Toby is also recognized in the Environmental: Transactional category by The Legal 500 United States and is recognized as a leading lawyer in Who’s Who Legal: Environment.

Toby obtained his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. He received his  Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and Science as well as his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Stanford University.  He is a member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association for the Greater Washington, D.C. area and is a member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Toby also serves as a guest lecturer on environmental law at the University of Chicago Law School.
