Drew’s practice focuses primarily on advising asset managers on some of their most complex transactions, including high-profile fund formation projects, mergers & acquisitions, secondaries transactions and founder transitions. In addition, his practice frequently includes matters relating to regulatory compliance and internal economic arrangements.

Drew’s experience has included representation of:

  • Blackstone in its investment in AIG’s Life & Retirement Business as well as its $14.6 billion recapitalization of BioMed Realty;
  • GCM Grosvenor, AlpInvest Partners, Portfolio Advisors, Strategic Partners and other “blue chip” sponsors in various transactional matters;
  • Onex Corp. in connection with the establishment of the Onex Credit business and the formation of Onex Capital Solutions, L.P.;
  • Palladium Equity Partners in multiple fundraisings as well as the establishment of their Palladium Heritage investment group;
  • Numerous alternative investment firms in connection with “minority stakes” GP transactions;
  • Succession planning arrangements for founders and senior partners of various alternative investment firms;
  • Blackstone in a number of fundraisings, including Blackstone Real Estate Partners IX L.P., Blackstone Property Partners Life Sciences L.P., Blackstone Mileway Logistics L.P., Blackstone Real Estate Partners Asia III L.P. and Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies III L.P.;
