Richard Fenyes is a Partner who has advised clients for more than twenty years on debt and equity capital markets transactions as well as general corporate and securities law matters. He regularly advises the Firm’s clients, including private equity sponsors such as KKR, Blackstone and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, and their portfolio companies, in connection with acquisition financing, IPOs, refinancings, debt restructuring and other registered and private offerings of debt and equity securities.

  • Richard represents issuers and private equity sponsors in acquisition financing, high yield offerings and bridge financings, including financings for some of the largest leveraged buyouts ever completed, such as KKR’s $33 billion acquisition of HCA and $29 billion acquisition of First Data Corporation.
  • Richard advises clients in equity offerings, including IPOs and secondary offerings, such as those for First Data Corporation, Gardner Denver Holdings, Inc. and TransUnion.
  • Richard also regularly represents issuers in a variety of other securities matters, including debt restructurings, private placements and investment grade debt offerings, representing companies such as Community Health Systems, Mars Inc. and Eaton Corporation.

He regularly advises the Firm’s clients, including private equity sponsors such as KKR, Blackstone and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, and their portfolio companies, in connection with acquisition financing, IPOs, refinancings, debt restructuring and other registered and private offerings of debt and equity securities.

Richard has represented issuers in high yield offerings and bridge financings in connection with acquisitions and refinancings, including many of the largest LBOs ever completed. Richard’s acquisition finance experience includes:

  • the $9.9 billion acquisition of Envision Healthcare Corporation by KKR
  • the merger of Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc. with WMIH Corp.
  • the acquisition of a majority interest in Heartland Dental by KKR
  • the $4.3 billion acquisition of USI Insurance Services by KKR and CDPQ
  • the $1.6 billion acquisition of PRA International and ReSearch Pharmaceutical, Inc. by KKR
  • the $3.9 billion acquisition of Gardner Denver by KKR
  • the $11.8 billion acquisition of Cooper Industries by Eaton Corporation

Richard received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1995 and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1992. Richard joined Simpson Thacher in 1995.
