Simpson Thacher Represents J.P. Morgan in Carmike Cinemas, Inc. $295 Million Financing
Simpson Thacher recently represented J.P. Morgan in connection with a $295 million bank financing for Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (“Carmike”). The credit facility consists of a $265 million secured term loan and a $30 million secured revolving credit facility. The proceeds of the loans were used to refinance Carmike's existing credit agreement. Carmike is a U.S. leader in digital cinema and is one of the nation’s largest movie theater operators, with nearly 250 theaters and over 2,000 screens in 35 states.
