Partner Adam Aderton was quoted extensively in a Private Funds CFO article titled, “In The Loop: A Closer Look at SEC Exam Priorities,” which detailed the impact of the new SEC exam priorities for 2026 on the private fund industry. Adam described how “Most firms’ compliance teams haven’t had an opportunity to take that holistic view of what we’re doing well, what could be better, what could we automate, what doesn’t fit with our program anymore, how do our policies map onto our practices. This may be a time to whiteboard some new ideas.” Adam also noted that “Where retail and private funds intersect, I think that’s what you really see in these priorities as something that the exams division is saying they’re interested in.” He further explained that it is essential for fund managers to take the longer view on things, stating “You should calibrate your risk tolerance to be appropriate for any of those environments.”
