Marcobre Completes US$400 Million Inaugural Bond Offering

Simpson Thacher represented Marcobre S.A.C., a Peruvian closely held corporation, in connection with the offering of US$400 million principal amount of 5.750% Senior Notes due 2036. The offering was conducted pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S under the U.S. Securities Act, and represents the company’s inaugural international bond offering.

Marcobre owns and operates the Mina Justa copper in Peru, one of the country’s largest copper mines. Marcobre is a joint venture between the Breca group, one of Peru’s largest conglomerates, and the Copec group, one of Chile’s largest conglomerates.
