David Shevlin to Speak at the Western Conference on Tax‑Exempt Organizations
David Shevlin, a Partner in the Firm’s Exempt Organizations Practice, will speak at the 29th Annual Western Conference on Tax‑Exempt Organizations, hosted by the UCLA School of Law’s Lowell Milken Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofits and Loyola Law School. The conference will take place March 12–13, 2026, at The California Endowment’s Center for Healthy Communities in Los Angeles. Simpson Thacher is a sponsor of the event.
David will participate in a March 12 panel titled “Creative Structures for the Common Good.” There is growing interest in democratically owned or governed business structures, and this discussion will examine the various considerations that shape creative entity choice and the ways to ensure alignment with legal constraints on tax‑exempt requirements.
