Mark Skerry Quoted in MLex on the CFIUS’s Focus on Agentic AI

Partner Mark Skerry was quoted in an article in MLex titled, “US regulator of foreign investment eyes agentic AI, data centers,” which covers the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States’ (CFIUS) scrutiny of agentic AI as a national security concern. Mark noted that CFIUS is focused on “autonomous agentic AI programs that can plan, reason, and act out tasks to achieve more complex goals” specifically in the aerospace and national defense industries. He also noted the potential for heightened scrutiny for the role AI plays in driving content on social media. “Even a slight tweak could change how a broad section of the US population might see, view, or come to understand an issue that could be relevant to national security one day,” he said.
