EVgo and Tesla Enter into Transaction to Install Hundreds of EVgo Superchargers across the U.S.
Simpson Thacher is advising EVgo in respect of its transaction with Tesla to deploy hundreds of Tesla V4 Superchargers – Tesla’s newest generation – at EVgo’s own charging locations across the United States. The new chargers will operate under the name ‘EVgo Superchargers’ and become part of EVgo’s existing network, with Tesla operating and maintaining the superchargers. The EVgo Superchargers will support charging at up to 500 kW and 1,000 volts, making them compatible with both 400-volt EVs and newer 800-volt vehicles. They are expected to feature Tesla’s Magic Dock system, enabling both NACS- and CCS-equipped vehicles to charge without requiring an external adapter.
