Matt Kelly, Head of Simpson Thacher’s AI Practice, was quoted in a Law.com article titled, “Calls For AI Oversight Are Intensifying. What Is Big Law’s Role?” Matt discussed how the rapidly evolving technology and regulatory landscape is complicating long-term planning for companies and how lawyers can help policymakers and industry participants navigate questions around AI oversight. He emphasized the importance of facilitating dialogue rather than steering it. Lawyers can help “make it possible for regulators to hear from industry, from users, from consumers what their needs and concerns are, and vice versa,” he said.
