Simpson Thacher Attorneys Speak at PCLAA's Fall Symposium
Antitrust Partner Karen Kazmerzak and Financial Institutions Partner Amanda Allexon participated in the Penn Carey Law Antitrust Association (PCLAA) Fall Symposium, Antitrust and Regulation: A Historical Dependency, on October 16. The first annual symposium explored the relationship between antitrust enforcement and industry regulation, examining how antitrust laws developed alongside industry-specific regulation and how federal agencies promote competition in U.S. markets today.
Amanda spoke on the panel, “Trading Off Antitrust Enforcement and Regulation,” while Karen participated in the panel, “State Regulation and Immunities.” The program brought together academics, economists, government officials and leading practitioners to discuss the intersection of antitrust enforcement and regulatory policy.
