Rafi Prober and Karen Christian Quoted in Law.com on Managing the Broader Risks of Congressional Investigations
Partners Rafi Prober and Karen Christian, Co-Heads of Simpson Thacher’s Congressional Investigations Practice, were quoted in an article titled, “In Congressional Investigations, the Game is Played in the Hearing Room, But the Score is Kept Outside,” which was published by Law.com. The article examines how congressional investigations can create legal, regulatory and reputational considerations beyond the hearing itself. Rafi explained, “Quite often the game is played in the room, in a congressional hearing room, but the score is kept outside,” emphasizing the need to take a “360 degree view of the entire field.” Karen also highlighted the importance of considering the full context of a congressional inquiry, noting, “You almost have to back up and make sure you understand all the different spokes coming into it.”
