Simpson Thacher Attorneys Quoted in Bloomberg on M&A Outlook in Japan
Co-Heads of the Firm’s Asia Offices Ian Ho and Adam Furber were quoted in a Bloomberg article titled, “Record $350 Billion Deals Boom Fuels Rosy Japan M&A Outlook,” which detailed dealmaking activity in Japan. Ian explained how “Having deep business relationships and local talent are key,” noting that “While the interest and opportunities are real, it may take some time for some of the newcomers to gain traction.” With reference to the trend of buyouts in the lower-to-mid tier, Adam added that, “While the deals may be smaller in value, they are generating solid returns.”
