Antonio Bavasso Quoted in the Financial Times on the UK Government’s Shift Toward a Pro-Growth Agenda
Head of the Firm’s European antitrust and foreign investment group Antonio Bavasso was quoted in a Financial Times article discussing the Firm’s report, Global Merger Regulation in 2025/26: Turbulence and Transformation, which outlines the trends and themes that shaped 2025 and will influence merger control in 2026. The article noted that “the UK government’s shift toward a pro-growth agenda had an immediate and unmistakable influence on the CMA’s merger control work in 2025.” Antonio further explained: “We now have a full year of data to show how the government’s pressure on the CMA has played out, and the data really confirms what we knew was going to happen—that a correction has taken place.”
