Rajib Chanda Quoted in FundFire on Alternative Assets in 401(k) Plans
Rajib Chanda, Global Head of Asset Management, was quoted in a FundFire article titled, “Alts in 401(k) Plans? Here’s How Long It Might Take,” which discussed the Department of Labor’s proposed rule to create a safe harbor provision for allowing alternative assets in retirement plans. Noting that alternative investments already exist in defined contribution plans, Rajib observed that the proposed safe harbor may address some of the current litigation risks that exist and stated, “It may help those who are more on the sidelines get more comfortable to get in the game. But the game has started.” He also indicated that there are likely to be early movers as the proposed rule advances and is eventually adopted, and said, “I don't think people will hold off if they have good product ready to go.”
