Bryce Friedman and Nick Goldin Author NYLJ Article on Commercial Cyber Risk and Cyber Insurance

Partners Bryce Friedman and Nick Goldin authored an article titled, “Leveraging Cyber Insurance To Mitigate the Economic Impact of Cyber Incidents,” which was published by New York Law Journal. The article analyzed leveraging cyber insurance to mitigate commercial cyber risk, and discussed different types of commercial cyber incidents, including business email compromise (BEC), ransomware, distributed denial of service, data breaches and thefts of intellectual property. The article also provided an overview of the types of insurance policies that might cover cyber incidents and highlighted some of the issues that are likely to arise surrounding cyber-related insurance coverage, including Payment Card Industry (PCI) costs, territory conditions, regulatory and compliance coverage, and exclusions barring coverage.
